Description
An early 1900s original photograph of the Limon Exchange in Colorado. The Exchange building has sign for saloon, liquor, wines, samples. Next door is the Limon Hotel. Please note that due to the age of this original photo there are some spots and scratches in the image.
Limon has a long history as one of the main transportation hubs on Colorado’s eastern plains. The town started to take shape in the late 1880s, when the CRI&P (often known as the Rock Island) chose the site as a division point where the single line would split into two branches, one to Denver and the other to Colorado Springs.
